Cathy works with emerging and developing businesses and not-for-profit organizations. She began her finance career 25 years ago in commercial lending, supporting middle market businesses in both New York and later in Boston. She has since then built a vibrant practice working closely with early stage entrepreneurs and management teams to prepare companies for financing from external sources.
Cathy’s industry experience includes work with import-export business, regional distributors, manufacturers, software and hardware developers, and biotech/pharma. She has arranged both government-backed and privately funded financing, ranging from the earliest stage asset-based funding, to large, multi-bank agented credit lines. During the past 10 years, Cathy has been actively engaged in financial and operational management in the non-profit arena, including corporate and government agency fundraising, standardizing annual reporting, and multi-year comprehensive forecasting. As president of a cultural non-profit, she implemented procedures and planning that served to increase membership, ticket sales and advertising revenues, and led the organization to establish a successfully continuing, regular concert program series at a regional performing arts center.
Cathy holds a BA from Colgate University, as well as an MBA with a concentration in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Although she is a native New Yorker, Cathy became a naturalized member of Red Sox Nation over 20 years ago when she agreed to marry her New Englander husband in a moment of weakness. She continues avidly to pursue her skiing in the Great White North, and happily maintains her ancient family traditions beaching and boating on Cape Cod during the summer months. She enjoys traveling, both near and far, with her husband and two young daughters.
